And Be Thankful

AND BE THANKFUL

     Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!  Serve the Lord  with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing. 
Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; 
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with
THANKSGIVING
And unto His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name

For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.

I read about a man who was given a car by a Christian friend; a Cadillac.  The man called the daughter of the benevolent friend and asked, “What should I do?”  She simply said, “Say thank you.”

The simplest expression of gratitude is to just say “Thank you.”  Worship to God is an expression of gratitude.  When we sing songs like…

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed.  When you are  discouraged, thinking all is lost.  Count your many blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what they Lord has done. Or…

Thank you Lord for loving me, thank you Lord for blessing me, thank you Lord for making me whole, and saving my soul.

Ingratitude is the worst of character flaws.  Those who love the Lord and recognize all the blessings He has afforded them are those who will honor Him as the giver AND BE THANKFUL.
