Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda

WOULDA, COULDA, SHOULDA

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’  Matthew 7:21-23

Paul declared that Now is the accepted time, behold now is the day of salvation.” II Corinthians 6:2  Becoming a Christian is a personal choice.  No one can make that decision for you.  You must make it for yourself.  But like all decisions we make, serious thought and fervent prayer should  precede such a monumental decision.

To those who have yet to make that decision this message is for you.  Do you believe in God?  Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?  Do you recognize that your sins are separating you from God and heaven?  Are you sorry for your sins and genuinely want to repent and live a more godly life?  If you can sincerely say “yes” to each of those questions, then the words of Ananias to Saul of Tarsus are appropriate here… And now why are you waiting, arise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”  Acts 22:16

Through the years I have had the unpleasant experience of seeing people wait too long to obey the gospel.  Some waited until they had no more  opportunity.  They died without Christ.  Some waited until all their energies had been exhausted on worldly pursuits.  They did obey the gospel, but gave little of themselves in service to the Lord or the church.

Don’t be guilty of getting to the end of your life and say or think  “I woulda, coulda, shoulda  obeyed the gospel.”  Or “I woulda, coulda, shoulda done a lot of things for the Lord and His church”.
