Meet Matthew Okolichany
My name is Matthew Okolichany. I was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia. Before coming to Ruston, I was formally the minister of the Archibald church of Christ in Rayville, Louisiana. I am a graduate of the Northwest Florida School of Biblical Studies in Pensacola, FL. While attending NWFSBS, I was blessed to work with the church of Christ at Milestone in Pensacola, Florida and I was privileged to go on a mission trip to Peru, which resulted in several baptisms. In addition to my classwork, I was fortunate to work in community outreach, preparing and preaching sermons, teaching bible classes, leading singing, public prayer, the Lord’s Supper, and devotionals. The experience that I have gained has truly been a blessing and I am grateful for the wonderful opportunity to serve.
I attended high school at Georgia Christian School in Dasher, Georgia which is supported by the Dasher church of Christ. I’m very thankful for the opportunities that were presented during my tenure there as I was asked often to lead singing, prayer and chapel speeches. I played basketball all throughout my schooling there until I graduated in 2014.
I have been a part of the Lads to Leaders program since I was 12 years old. While involved with the program I competed in speech, song leading and debate. After placing first in speech during my first competition, I moved on to compete in winner-circle speech every year until I graduated from high school. I will forever be grateful to Lads to Leaders for the impact they’ve made on me, and in the lives of others as well.
In May of this year, I married my beautiful wife, Kacie. She attended Louisiana Tech and also was a resident of the Christian Student Center during here time in school. We cannot begin to tell you how excited we are to be a part of the work here at Ruston church of Christ and look forward to the opportunity to serve in His kingdom.
