Preparing to Yoke the Oke’s

As we prepare to work with Matthew Okolichany as our new Associate minister, with his wife Kacie, here are a few concepts for us to make the best of this wonderful new opportunity.

Pray for Him and His Family

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.  (2 Thes. 3:1-2)

Follow His Lead

Matthew is being asked to take on a work that he has committed his entire life and livelihood to. We can best help him by allowing him to lead and provide our efforts to support him.

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry “ (Eph. 4:11-12)

Overlook Failures

Undoubtedly, Matthew will suffer failure and setbacks as he strives for success. Let us demonstrate that we have the love of Christ in us by our responses.

“And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”  (1 Peter 4:8)

Be His Friend

The church is by nature, relational. It is easy to view a minister as an employee or a hired hand, but they’re accountability is to God. The most effective action we could take with the Okolichany’s is to be there friends.

Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common (Acts 2:44)
