Until We Meet Again

Until We Meet Again

Saying goodbye hurts because it acknowledges loss. It may be the loss of a dear friend, the loss of a cherished home, or the loss of future opportunities. But when Christians part ways we do not have to say goodbye. Instead, we can confidently say, “Until we meet again”.

Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (NKJV), “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.”

My family and I are so grateful for the time we have spent in Ruston these past five years, and I thank God that I was blessed with the opportunity to serve His kingdom here. We have all grown closer as I have grown as a minister. We labored together to help people in need after natural disasters. We encouraged and strengthened one another as we endured the uncertainties of the global pandemic. We worked to strengthen our college students and give them a place where they could belong.

Soon we are going to be separated by state lines and horrible interstate traffic, but we will always be connected through our Savior and the work we did for Him. Even as my family and I begin a new chapter of our lives in Texas, the church in Ruston will always have a special place in our hearts.

Until we meet again!
