It's Time For A Revival

IT’S TIME FOR A REVIVAL

All will agree that this has been a very difficult year.  The pandemic has forced many to isolate themselves from society for fear of the Covid-19 virus.  Church leaders have had to make hard decisions about schedules, social distancing and use of their facilities.  Attendance in most congregations has dropped from 50 to 75%.  Many are struggling to keep the doors open and pay the bills.  Some have stopped meeting altogether.

The good news is that most congregations have found a way to navigate the challenges that have come their way.  Many of us have challenged ourselves to find new ways to present the word of God to not only our own members, but even to a much broader audience.  We have learned to use YouTube and Face Book to reach far beyond our own fellowship.  For that we are thankful and will continue to do so as long as we are able. Now it’s time for a revival.

The word revival has not always been in our vocabulary.  We tend to avoid anything that sounds denominational.  That’s sad to say.  The word revival means to bring back into use; restoration to vigor or activity; a stirring up of religious faith among those who have been indifferent.  It is the very thing the writer of Hebrews was teaching in Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Brother Keith Hodges is presenting lessons under the theme of REVIVE US AGAIN.  The lesson topics are timely.  Revive us with the right perspective; the right attitude; knowing life isn’t fair; a good orientation; knowing we are warned; and knowing our identity.

As the last verse of the song goes… Revive us again; fill each heart with Thy love; May each soul be rekindled with fire from above.
