SOARING IN HIS STRENGTH
SOARING IN HIS STRENGTH
Last year, on our way to Branson, Missouri for our annual family vacation, we decided to make a pit stop to float down the Buffalo. What a beautiful and fun experience we had! We truly were able to take in God’s creation in its purest form. The most memorable part of that experience for us was when a bald eagle stretched its wings and flew right over us! It caught me by surprise how big they actually are when they have their wings stretched out! I have never been so close to one in the wild before! No wonder this bird was elected to be our national symbol. It truly is a majestic, graceful and swift creature. Even God used its characteristics to encourage the Israelites:
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
There is a quiet power in waiting on the Lord. In this sacred space of surrender, God promises strength. Not just enough to survive the day, but strength to soar! The eagle doesn’t strive or flap wildly to stay in the air—it stretches its wings and rises on the wind. In the same way, God invites us to stop striving and start trusting. To rise above fear, worry, and weariness by relying on His strength, not our own.
Maybe you’re in a season of exhaustion, frustration, or uncertainty. Maybe the weight of life feels too heavy to carry. Hear this: God sees you. God sustains you. And God will lift you.
