Punishment Brings Peace

How could punishment bring peace? The punishment God afflicted onto Jesus, through his death, brings us peace in knowing that we can be with God forever. This is a beautiful prophecy from Isaiah that explains why Jesus had to go through the pain and suffering of a death on a cross.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the punishment that brought us peace, and by his wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:5
